DefectDojo is an open-source platform for application security and vulnerability management. It imports findings from scanners and testing tools, removes duplicate results, tracks remediation and produces reports that security and compliance teams use as audit evidence. Development and security teams use it to manage vulnerability data for several projects in one place. The Community Edition is released under the BSD-3-Clause licence and can be installed on an organisation's own servers or in a private cloud. The same company also offers a commercial Pro edition.
DefectDojo, Inc. is headquartered in Austin, Texas, and maintains the project on GitHub. Because the company is based in the United States, any hosted service it operates is subject to US law, including the CLOUD Act. An organisation that wants vulnerability data to remain under European control can run the self-hosted Community Edition on its own infrastructure. The vendor does not state where its hosted service stores data, so a European buyer should request that information and a data processing agreement before using it.
