The Digital Concert Hall is the streaming service of the Berliner Philharmoniker. The orchestra broadcasts its Berlin concerts live and then offers them as repeats, alongside a large archive of concert videos from several decades, documentaries, interviews and education concerts. The service can be watched on TVs, computers, tablets and smartphones, through dedicated apps or the web, on a monthly or annual subscription.
The service is operated by Berlin Phil Media GmbH, a German company with its registered office in Berlin, so the provider is headquartered in the EU. The privacy policy names processors outside the EU: a captcha provider that may forward data to a server in the United States, and an Australian email processor, which the policy says are covered by GDPR Article 46 safeguards. The policy does not name a primary hosting location. The platform is proprietary and not open source.
