ePAS: sovereignty score and 8 European alternatives

ePAS (Electronic Personnel Attendance System) is a web application for recording and managing staff attendance. Employees can view their daily, monthly and yearly attendance, clock-ins, absences, missions and remaining leave. HR offices manage staff and the permitted working-time schemes, send monthly attendance statements and plan shift and on-call calendars. The software collects clock-ins from several models of badge reader, offers a REST API and supports sign-in through LDAP, SAML and OIDC. The documentation and the interface are in Italian.

ePAS was developed by the Istituto di Informatica e Telematica (IIT) of the Italian National Research Council (CNR) in Rome, together with CNR's ICT office, and has existed since 2012. According to the project page it is used by several research bodies, including CNR, INAF and the LaMMA consortium. The source code is released under the AGPL, and you can run the software yourself, for example with Docker Compose and PostgreSQL on your own Linux server. No cloud service from the maintainer is involved, so your data stays on your own infrastructure.
