Fotoware is a digital asset management provider whose platform helps organisations govern, automate and connect their content operations. It organises and searches assets, automates workflows from ingestion to distribution, manages rights, licences and consent, and supports C2PA content credentials that record origin and edit history. AI is used for tasks such as tagging and translation, with human approval at the end. The product range includes Fotoware Veloz, Fotoware Alto, the desktop application Fotostation and the Flow automation tool. Customers include media and publishing, public safety, cultural heritage institutions, manufacturing and retail.
Fotoware AS is headquartered in Oslo, Norway, and has been owned since 2020 by Viking Venture, a Nordic software investor. In its SaaS data processing agreement, Fotoware names Microsoft as sub-processor and offers the regions Europe (West), US (East), Germany and Australia (East); customers in the EU are hosted in Europe (West) unless they expressly choose otherwise. The software is proprietary and no open-source option is described.
