Ultimo is enterprise asset management (EAM) software with CMMS functionality. Organisations use it to plan and run maintenance and to manage asset data, analytics and workflows for fixed and mobile assets. Its capabilities include maintenance, fleet, health, safety and environment (HSE), and infrastructure assets, and it is used in industries such as manufacturing, food and beverage, chemicals, healthcare, logistics and utilities. Ultimo is offered as a cloud service and is now marketed as IFS Ultimo.
Ultimo was founded in the Netherlands in 1988 and is a Netherlands-based provider. In July 2022 IFS announced a definitive agreement to acquire it, and it now operates as part of the IFS group, so the ultimate parent sits outside the Netherlands. The public product pages do not state where customer data is hosted, and no open-source or self-hosted edition is described. A European organisation should ask which regions host its asset and maintenance data, which group entities can access it, and what the subprocessor chain looks like, and set this out in the contract.
