Adobe Experience Manager Assets is the digital asset management (DAM) component of Adobe Experience Manager. As a cloud service it covers DAM and Dynamic Media. Organisations use it to ingest assets in bulk, enrich them with metadata, find them through natural-language search and govern them with versioning, expiry, collections and duplicate detection. AI generates titles, descriptions and keywords, and Smart Tags apply tags that follow the customer's taxonomy. Dynamic Media produces image and video variants on the fly through a CDN, and APIs and an asset selector support delivery to websites and apps. Adobe manages uptime and updates.
Adobe Inc. is headquartered in San Jose, California, and is a publicly listed US company, so US law applies to the vendor. AEM Assets is proprietary software delivered by Adobe as a managed service. Adobe documents ingestion from several clouds, but the public pages consulted do not state in which regions a customer's assets are stored. European organisations should obtain written confirmation of hosting regions and AI processing locations from Adobe before relying on it for sensitive assets.
