Audacy, formerly Radio.com, is a US internet radio platform and the national brand for the local radio stations of Audacy, Inc. (formerly Entercom). Through its iOS and Android apps and on smart speakers and streaming devices, listeners can stream stations live, listen to podcasts and on-demand programming, and rewind spoken-word stations using a 24-hour buffer. It is a consumer service for listeners rather than a product for business procurement, and streaming is limited to the United States.
Audacy is headquartered in Philadelphia and is a US company. After a Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2024, creditors became shareholders; Soros Fund Management obtained the largest stake. The service falls under US jurisdiction, which is relevant for the CLOUD Act. Audacy is not open source and cannot be self-hosted. Because streaming is available only in the US, the service is in practice not a meaningful alternative or dependency for European organisations and listeners.
