Bandcamp is an online music marketplace and community where artists and labels sell digital music and physical formats such as vinyl, CDs and cassettes, plus merchandise, directly to fans. Artists set their own prices and can let fans pay more; buyers can download purchases in several formats, including MP3, FLAC and WAV. Fans can write reviews, share collections and message artists they follow, and Bandcamp Daily provides editorial coverage. Bandcamp is available on the web and as iOS and Android apps, and offers ticketed livestreams.
Bandcamp is based in Oakland, California, and has been owned since 2023 by Songtradr, a music-licensing company in Santa Monica, California. According to its privacy policy, Bandcamp Ventures LLC is the controller, and information may be stored in the United States or other countries where Bandcamp or its service providers operate. Bandcamp is not open source. European artists and fans should take US jurisdiction into account.
