CODRA Panorama Suite: sovereignty score and 8 European alternatives

Panorama Suite is a software platform for industrial supervision and monitoring from the French company CODRA. It consists of three combinable products: Panorama E2, the SCADA platform, Panorama H2, a historian for storing process data, and Panorama COM, the communication and telemetry platform. CODRA also offers Panorama Edge to Service for centralised remote management and the MES platform COOX Origin. The software is sold under licences and supplied and supported through a network of certified integrators and distributors; it is software you install yourself.

According to its website, CODRA is a French family-owned company, active since 1986 and based near Paris. No parent company is mentioned. The vendor describes Panorama E2 as the first SCADA system certified by ANSSI at CSPN level. Because the software runs on your own infrastructure, process and measurement data stays under your control. For European industrial organisations and infrastructure operators, it is a European alternative to US SCADA packages such as Ignition.

Why digital sovereignty matters with CODRA Panorama Suite

CODRA Panorama Suite is headquartered in FR and therefore falls under European law: the GDPR, NIS2 and the Data Act. No foreign legislation can compel access to your data.

CODRA Panorama Suite runs on infrastructure you choose and control yourself. You decide where the data lives, including fully within the EU if you want — this is not a fixed hosting choice made by the vendor.

CODRA Panorama Suite is closed source, but you run the software yourself on your own infrastructure. The encryption keys and the runtime therefore stay under your own control, though you cannot audit or modify the source code. Ask about export options and open standards to limit software-level lock-in.

What this means for your organisation depends on your whole stack and context. The free assessment weighs CODRA Panorama Suite together with your other vendors and gives a total score, a heatmap and the main risk drivers.
