EasySecure: sovereignty score and 8 European alternatives

EasySecure is a cloud platform for access control, time registration, attendance and visitor management. According to the vendor, the platform is hardware-independent: access can work by fingerprint, face, mobile, card, QR code or licence plate, and there are well over a hundred integrations, including AFAS and Entra ID for automatically creating and removing access. It targets organisations at construction sites, offices, logistics and hospitality. Hardware options are also available.

EasySecure International B.V. is based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and has been part of the Novico Group since January 2026. Novico is a European technology group backed, according to its announcement, by an Amsterdam-based private equity firm; no owner outside the Netherlands is named. According to the vendor the platform is hosted in the EU; the site names neither a hosting provider nor a country. A German subsidiary, EasySecure Deutschland GmbH, exists. The vendor says it offers standard data agreements and designs for GDPR compliance. No self-hosting option is mentioned. Note that access and time data are employee data, so check processing agreements and retention periods.

Why digital sovereignty matters with EasySecure

EasySecure is headquartered in the Netherlands and therefore falls under European law: the GDPR, NIS2 and the Data Act. No foreign legislation can compel access to your data.

Data is hosted exclusively in the EU, so EasySecure scores best on data residency.

EasySecure is closed source and hosted by the vendor. The encryption keys and the runtime sit with the vendor and switching requires data migration. Ask about bring-your-own-key, export options and open standards.

What this means for your organisation depends on your whole stack and context. The free assessment weighs EasySecure together with your other vendors and gives a total score, a heatmap and the main risk drivers.
