EcoVadis provides sustainability ratings for businesses. Its methodology assesses how well a company has integrated sustainability into its management system and is built on the Global Reporting Initiative, the UN Global Compact and ISO 26000. The scorecard evaluates indicators across four themes: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Procurement and risk teams use the ratings for supplier risk and for regulations such as the CSRD and the German Supply Chain Act, while suppliers seek a rating of their own. The platform also covers Scope 3 carbon management and human rights due diligence. EcoVadis is a cloud service and is not open source.
EcoVadis started in Paris in 2007, and EcoVadis SAS is a French company. According to its privacy page, data for the EcoVadis service is stored on European servers run by Microsoft Azure.
