Finastra is a software company that supplies banking systems for retail banking, transaction banking, lending, and treasury and capital markets. It was formed in 2017 through a combination that included London-based Misys, and its products are used by banks and other financial institutions worldwide. Finastra is headquartered in London, United Kingdom, outside the EU and EEA.
Finastra is majority-owned by Vista Equity Partners, a private equity firm headquartered in Austin, Texas. Its ultimate majority owner is therefore a US investor, and US authorities could reach company records under the CLOUD Act, which is relevant for European banks evaluating its products. Hosting locations for cloud services and the availability of on-premise deployment should be requested from the vendor in writing before any procurement decision.
