GeoNode is an open-source platform for managing and publishing geospatial data. Users can upload vector, raster and tabular data, style layers, manage metadata, and build and share interactive maps. Resources can be public or restricted to specific users or groups. GeoNode supports OGC standards such as WMS, WFS, WCS, WMTS and CSW, is built on Django and provides a REST API for customisation and integration. You run it yourself, for example with Docker images; a public demo is also available.
GeoNode is an OSGeo Community Project, developed by a global community of contributors, and not the product of a single company. The software is licensed under the GNU General Public License. Because you host it yourself, you decide where the data is stored, for example in a European data centre or on your own infrastructure, and there is no dependence on a single vendor or foreign parent company. For a European organisation, hosting, operation and any support arrangement with a service provider are therefore its own responsibility.
