Glassdoor was acquired by Japan's Recruit Holdings in 2018 and, since 1 July 2026, has legally merged into Indeed, Inc., headquartered in Austin, Texas; Glassdoor continues as a brand. The parent company is therefore in Japan, the operating entity in the United States, and data is subject to US law, including the CLOUD Act. The privacy policy is reported to name Indeed, Inc. as controller since the merger, with transfers based on standard contractual clauses and the Data Privacy Framework.
