Host Europe is a German hosting provider offering domain registration, web hosting, managed hosting and cloud hosting, complemented by some software-as-a-service products. Services are hosted and operated by Host Europe; the product is not open source.
Host Europe is part of Host Europe Group, founded in 1997 and active under brands such as 123-reg, Webfusion and domainfactory. The group has belonged to the US company GoDaddy since April 2017; GoDaddy announced the acquisition in late 2016. A US parent is a CLOUD Act signal: US authorities can in principle request data from companies under US jurisdiction, even when servers are in Europe. The group's data centres are in Cologne and Strasbourg, that is, within the EU. A European organisation that cares about data sovereignty can therefore weigh the ownership structure alongside the server location.
