KISIM is a clinical information system (hospital information system) from CISTEC AG in Zurich, Switzerland, for physicians, nurses and other health professionals in Swiss hospitals. It is an electronic patient record kept on an interdisciplinary basis, with a chart and medication module, workflows for diagnostics, reporting and service-unit requests, tumour boards, the nursing process, appointment and resource scheduling, and an interface server for connections to other hospital systems and the Swiss electronic patient record (EPD). Separate components cover mobile use, a team board and a patient data management system (PDMS), plus an optional AI function that drafts discharge reports.
CISTEC is headquartered in Switzerland, which is not in the EU but is an EFTA country with an EU adequacy decision; no foreign parent company is stated. The vendor does not describe where the core system runs. For the AI function it names local installation in the hospital or secure cloud data centres in Switzerland. Because this concerns patient data, ask about hosting, subprocessors and the language models used.
