Mailinblack is a French cybersecurity software publisher whose main product, Protect, filters incoming email to block spam, phishing, ransomware and other attacks while letting legitimate messages through. It lists anti-malware, link analysis at the time of click and native integration with Microsoft 365 via API. Its Cyber Coach product runs simulated attacks to train employees, and further offerings cover password management, e-learning and a dashboard with a cyber score. According to its terms of use, the products are offered as a cloud service or on-premises.
Mailinblack is headquartered in Marseille. In 2022 Apax Partners, through its Apax Development fund, became majority shareholder alongside NewAlpha Verto and management. For the cloud service, the terms of use state that personal data is hosted by Mailinblack in France, in Roubaix or Paris, and also note that the Microsoft Azure infrastructure involved may entail transfers outside the European Union. With an on-premises subscription the customer hosts product and data itself. The software is proprietary and not open source.
