Maltego is an OSINT and link-analysis platform used by investigators, analysts and security teams to collect information from many data sources and map the relationships between people, companies, domains, IP addresses and other entities in a graph. The desktop client, Maltego Graph, is installed on the user's computer and connects to data sources called transforms and to related products such as Maltego Monitor and Maltego Evidence. It is commercial software and not open source.

Maltego Technologies GmbH is headquartered in Munich, Germany. Charlesbank Technology Opportunities Funds, a private equity fund based in Boston, acquired the company in 2023, so the majority owner is a US fund. The privacy policy states that personal data is processed under the GDPR and that, in some cases, it may be transferred to an IT service provider in the United States. Sub-processors are listed in a trust centre. European organisations should review the contract and the sub-processor list before using cloud-connected functions.
