Mambu is a software company offering a cloud-native core banking platform, delivered as software as a service to banks and financial service providers. Customers can deploy it on AWS, Google Cloud or Microsoft Azure and choose the region. Mambu was founded in Berlin in 2011 and originally served microfinance providers in Latin America and Africa before turning to banks.
Mambu GmbH is described by Wikipedia as a German-Dutch company headquartered in Amsterdam. Its early funding came from Commerzbank and the investor Point Nine, and a 2021 round was led by the Swedish investment firm EQT; the majority shareholder could not be confirmed from the sources consulted. The cloud-services page says customers choose their region to meet data-residency requirements, but it names no default EU or US location. European organisations should therefore set the cloud provider and region deliberately and confirm the hosting commitment in writing with the vendor.
