Novata is a platform for collecting, managing and reporting sustainability data, aimed at investors and companies in private markets. According to the vendor it covers carbon, risk and sustainability intelligence: investment firms gather ESG data from portfolio companies, benchmark it and report on it. The service is delivered as a cloud application (SaaS) used through the browser. In October 2025 Novata announced the acquisition of Atlas Metrics, a Berlin-based reporting platform, to strengthen its European presence.

Novata is headquartered in New York in the United States and was founded in 2021 by S&P Global, the Ford Foundation, Hamilton Lane and Omidyar Network. It therefore falls under US jurisdiction, including the US CLOUD Act. Where customer data is hosted is not published. European organisations are advised to ask the vendor about the hosting location and a data processing agreement before supplying sensitive portfolio data. The Berlin team of Atlas Metrics gives Novata a European presence, but the company itself remains American.
