Its portfolio also includes access management through OneLogin, which One Identity acquired in 2021, and the privileged access firm Balabit, acquired in 2018. Organisations use these tools to control who has access to which systems, review and approve entitlements, and secure administrator accounts, which supports compliance work such as NIS2 and DORA.

One Identity has been part of Quest Software, a US company headquartered in Aliso Viejo, California, which Clearlake Capital acquired in 2021. In June 2026 the company announced that it will become an independent company with its global headquarters in Cork, Ireland, and that more than 80 percent of its engineering is based in Europe. The transition continues through 2026, and the future ownership has not been published. The software is proprietary and not open source.
