Overkiz offers a white-label IoT cloud platform for smart homes and smart buildings. It consists of a cloud with APIs and a unified data model that brings together different devices, brands and protocols, home-automation boxes as gateways, the Kizconnect apps for residents and installers, supervision software and an e-maintenance tool. Devices connect through the box (including Zigbee 3.0, io-homecontrol, RTS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth), through an embedded connector or cloud to cloud. Customers use it to build connected services under their own brand.
Overkiz SAS has its registered office in Annecy, France, and belongs to the Somfy group according to its own legal information page. The website does not say where the cloud data is hosted (the website itself runs at OVH in Roubaix). A European customer processing home or building data should ask the vendor about the hosting location, sub-processors and export options.
