Pracmedio is practice software for medical practices in Switzerland. It combines patient management, appointment scheduling, billing under TARDOC and outpatient flat rates (Ambulante Pauschalen), and an electronic health record that can be configured per specialty, for example general practice, paediatrics, gynaecology, anaesthesia, orthopaedics, dermatology and psychiatry. Practices can also automate internal processes and bill from a tariff list. The software is delivered online as a web application.
Pracmedio GmbH is based in Rotkreuz in the canton of Zug, Switzerland. Switzerland is not an EU member but is an EFTA country with an EU adequacy decision for data protection. According to the vendor, all data is stored and processed exclusively in certified data centres in Switzerland, mirrored geo-redundantly within the country, encrypted in transit and at rest, and protected by two-factor authentication and role-based permissions. The vendor states that processing follows the Swiss Data Protection Act (revDSG) and the GDPR. The imprint names no parent company. A European practice should ask the vendor for its data processing agreement and its list of sub-processors.
