Recorded Future is a threat intelligence platform. It collects and correlates signals from technical sources, the dark web, the open web and adversary infrastructure in what it calls an Intelligence Graph, supplemented by analysis from its own research team, Insikt Group. Security teams use it for cyber operations, digital risk protection, third-party risk and payment fraud. It is delivered as a cloud service with integrations into existing security tooling.
Recorded Future is a US company and, since 20 December 2024, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mastercard, which is also based in the United States. It is therefore subject to US jurisdiction, which is relevant to the CLOUD Act. According to the privacy policy, some services are hosted in the United States; no EU hosting option is mentioned. The company is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and cites standard contractual clauses and Mastercard's binding corporate rules for transfers. European organisations should assess which data from their own environment ends up in the service.
