Skroutz is a Greek online platform that began as a price comparison website and developed into an e-commerce marketplace. Online shops present their offers there, and consumers compare prices across merchants. The company was founded in 2005 by three founders. The service is a web platform that customers do not install.
Skroutz Internet Services S.A. has its headquarters in Nea Ionia, a municipality near Athens in Greece, which places its seat inside the European Union. Its majority owner is a fund managed by the private equity firm CVC Capital Partners. In May 2026 Blackstone announced an agreement to acquire a majority stake, subject to regulatory approval and expected to close in the second half of 2026. A European organisation should request the processing terms and hosting locations from the operator, and should check the ownership again after the closing.
