solidtime: sovereignty score and 8 European alternatives

solidtime is an open-source time-tracking application for teams and freelancers. It offers a timer, calendar and weekly timesheet, reports you can export as PDF, CSV or Excel, and invoicing of billable hours, including VAT, EU reverse charge and EN 16931 e-invoices. It also provides projects with rates and budgets, teams and roles, desktop apps and a browser extension with automatic activity tracking; that data stays on your machine until you log it as a time entry. You can use the cloud version at app.solidtime.io or host solidtime yourself.

The source code is published on GitHub under the AGPL-3.0 licence. The service is operated by solidtime GesbR, a two-person Austrian partnership in Vienna. According to its privacy policy, data is hosted within the European Economic Area, mainly in France, with Scaleway as the main cloud provider. Payments are handled by Paddle as merchant of record, and cookieless Plausible is used for website analytics. Organisations that want full control can self-host.
