Stamus Clear is a network detection and response platform from Stamus Networks. It monitors full network traffic with a detection engine built on Suricata, the open-source intrusion detection engine, and turns the results into prioritised 'Declarations' with the underlying evidence. The platform has three modules: Clear Detect for detection, Clear Analyst for AI-assisted case reports, and Clear Comply for mapping evidence to NIS2, DORA and CAF 4.0. It is aimed at security teams in banks, public bodies and critical infrastructure.
Stamus Networks, Inc. is based in Indianapolis, Indiana, in the United States. Its privacy policy states that information may be stored, processed and transmitted in the United States and other locations. Stamus Clear is commercial software, not open source, although its engine builds on the open-source Suricata project. It can be deployed on premises, in a private cloud or fully air-gapped, so a European organisation can keep its network data under its own control. Because the vendor is US-headquartered, the contract should set out where any vendor-operated service and support access take place.
