Talkspace is an online therapy and psychiatry platform where people connect with licensed providers by video, voice or chat. The offering covers individual therapy, couples and teen therapy, treatment for conditions such as anxiety, depression and ADHD, and psychiatry with medication management. Talkspace also has AI support and a self-guided app. The service is delivered as a hosted service through a website and apps; there is no self-hosted variant.
Talkspace is a US company based in New York. In August 2026 it was acquired by Universal Health Services, also American, and continues as a subsidiary. Its privacy policy treats US users' data as protected health information under HIPAA. For users in the EU, the EEA and the United Kingdom, the policy names Talkspace as the controller under the GDPR and refers to a separate additional statement. The policy does not say where data is stored. For European organisations this concerns health data held by a US provider with a US owner, which makes US jurisdiction relevant.
