Voicepoint Xenon is an app-based platform for speech-driven medical documentation, made by Voicepoint AG of Wetzikon, Switzerland. It covers speech recognition, dictation and, with its Ambient Scribe function, summaries of consultations. It runs on Android and iOS devices, supports German, French, English and Swiss dialects, and offers a web interface for managing and transcribing recordings. It is aimed at hospitals, clinics and medical practices.
Voicepoint AG is headquartered in Switzerland, which is not an EU member but an EFTA country with an EU adequacy decision. The vendor names no parent company. Its Voicepoint Cloud runs on Microsoft Azure services in a data centre in Zürich, so the infrastructure belongs to a US provider while the data is kept in Switzerland. The vendor states that it protects stored data with its own bring-your-own-encryption concept, meant to prevent access by US companies such as Microsoft, and that speech data is used only to improve the individual speech profile. Because the content is health data, ask for the processing agreement and for details on key management.
