VulnerableCode is an open database and API of known vulnerabilities in software packages. It aggregates data from multiple public sources and organises it by package, using Package URLs (PURLs) as the key. This lets you look up, per package or package name, which vulnerabilities apply and which versions contain a fix. Security teams and developers use it to manage the software supply chain. It offers a web interface and an API, plus tools for building your own instance.
VulnerableCode is maintained by AboutCode Europe ASBL, a non-profit organisation in Brussels. The code is licensed under Apache-2.0 and the reference datasets under CC-BY-SA-4.0, both open licences. You can run the software yourself, so that your lookups do not go to an outside party, or use the public instance at public.vulnerablecode.io; where that instance is hosted is not published. Development was co-funded through the EU's NGI Zero programme, run by NLnet.
