Anthias is open-source digital signage software for Raspberry Pi devices and PCs, formerly known as Screenly OSE and renamed in 2022. Content is managed through a web interface: images, videos and web pages can be uploaded or referenced by URL, scheduled with start and end dates, given a display duration and ordered in a playlist. A REST API supports automation. It runs on Raspberry Pi models 2 to 5 and on x86 PCs, and installs from a ready-made SD card image.
Anthias is built and maintained by Screenly, Inc. and is licensed under GPLv2; according to the project's FAQ it is also available under a commercial licence. It is self-hosted: it runs on the organisation's own hardware, requires no cloud account, and uploaded media is played from local storage. The vendor does not operate a hosted service for Anthias, so data location is determined by where the organisation places its devices.
