Apptim is a tool for performance testing native mobile apps on real Android and iOS devices. It measures render times, power consumption and resource usage such as CPU, memory, network and battery, and records crashes and exceptions. According to the vendor, no SDK and no changes to the source code are needed. A tester connects a device to a computer over USB, runs the app and then receives a report with graphs, a screen recording, logs and crash details. The desktop app runs on Windows (Android) and macOS (iOS and Android); reports can be shared through a cloud workspace.
Apptim began as a spin-off of Abstracta, a testing company with a presence in several countries across North and South America. The sources consulted name no country of establishment and no storage region for the cloud workspace. The product is not open source. Because sessions can contain video, screenshots and logs, it is sensible to ask where workspace data is held before you share reports with sensitive content.
