Archifiltre: sovereignty score and 8 European alternatives

Archifiltre is an open-source tool for Windows and Linux that analyses a folder, disk or network share, including the contents of compressed files. It shows volumes, dates, file types and duplicates, so that archivists and staff can clean up a cluttered file tree. You can annotate items, mark them for deletion and prepare transfers to an archive. It is installed as a desktop application, and according to the website the analysis runs entirely on your own computer.

Archifiltre is a French public digital service, developed within the Vitam programme with support from the Service interministériel des Archives de France; its website is published under the French Ministry of Culture. The source code is on GitHub, in a repository of the SocialGouv organisation, under the Apache 2.0 licence. Because files are processed locally, your data does not leave your computer. Archifiltre is listed in the French SILL, the government's list of recommended free software.
