Bluestar PLM is a product lifecycle management (PLM) system embedded directly in Microsoft Dynamics 365, so product data sits alongside ERP data without a separate system to integrate. Discrete manufacturers use it to manage product data, CAD files, bills of materials and engineering changes, with structured workflows, approvals and traceability. It supports several CAD systems in one controlled environment and shares product records across teams, roles and sites. The vendor describes it as a cloud-based solution.
Bluestar PLM is a software-as-a-service provider headquartered in Denmark, sold by PDM Technology Group. In January 2025 Volpi Capital, a London-based pan-European private-equity investor, announced an investment in the company, which it described as a strategic partnership. Because the product runs inside Dynamics 365, a European organisation should look both at where Bluestar operates the service and at where its own Dynamics environment is hosted, with the contractual terms for each. The vendor's pages do not state hosting regions.
