CalypsoAI, founded in 2018, provides security for AI models and applications at the inference layer. Its platform covers protection against attacks such as prompt injection and jailbreaks, runtime guardrails for sensitive data, AI red-teaming, and centralised observability with audit logs. It works regardless of model or cloud. F5 announced in September 2025 that it would acquire CalypsoAI; the product is now offered as F5 AI Guardrails, and the calypsoai.com website redirects to that product page.
F5 is a US-listed company (NASDAQ: FFIV), while CalypsoAI has major operations in Dublin, Ireland. According to the vendor, F5 AI Guardrails can be deployed in the public cloud (AWS, Azure and Google Cloud), in a private cloud, or on-premises, including fully air-gapped environments. The product is not open source. Organisations that run it on their own infrastructure keep inspection and enforcement within their own boundaries; the owner, however, is subject to US jurisdiction. It is therefore worth confirming per deployment where data is processed.
