Lakera provides an AI security platform for GenAI applications, agents and MCPs. Its offering covers runtime protection against threats such as prompt injection and data leakage (Lakera Guard), pre-deployment risk assessments and automated red-teaming (Lakera Red), and protection of employees' AI usage. According to the company, Gandalf, an adversarial testing community, is used to train its detection models. The platform is aimed at enterprises and developers, is delivered as SaaS and has an API-first design. It is not open source.
Lakera is described in Check Point's announcement as Zurich-based, with offices in Zurich and San Francisco. Check Point Software Technologies completed its acquisition of Lakera in October 2025 and is making Zurich its global centre of excellence for AI security. The ultimate parent therefore sits outside Switzerland and the EU, which matters when assessing exposure to foreign jurisdiction. Lakera's website does not state in which regions data is hosted, so this is a question for the vendor.
