Checksub is an online platform for automatically creating and translating subtitles and for AI dubbing of videos. The service generates subtitles from speech, translates them automatically into many languages and can burn them into the video or export them as a file. With AI dubbing, the background audio is kept and only the voices are replaced; voice isolation separates voices from music and noise, and voice cloning makes the translated audio sound like the original speaker. An online editor lets you change and regenerate sentences. Checksub is used as a web service.
The privacy policy names CHECK COMPANY in La Ciotat, France, as data controller; nothing was found about a parent company. It does not say where data is hosted: the policy lists AWS, Google Cloud Storage and Microsoft Azure without regions, along with third-party services such as DeepL and Rev.com. For a European organisation a French provider is an advantage, but ask in advance in which regions videos and transcripts are stored and processed, and which US sub-processors are involved.
