CNaaS-NMS is a network management system for campus networks (local area networks). The README lists zero-touch provisioning of switches, automation of common campus changes, automated firmware upgrades and support for equipment from several vendors as its aims. It is server software written in Python with a SQL database and Redis, installable with Docker Compose, and it has a REST API and documentation on Read the Docs.
The software was developed as part of the CNaaS service of Sunet, the Swedish e-infrastructure for research and higher education. Sunet is part of Vetenskapsrådet, the Swedish Research Council. The source code is published on GitHub under the BSD 2-clause licence and is actively maintained: the development branch still received commits in October 2026. You run CNaaS-NMS on your own servers, so configuration and network data stay with your organisation.
