CompuGroup Medical (CGM) supplies software and services for healthcare. Its portfolio includes electronic health record and practice management systems, laboratory information systems, hospital information systems, telehealth, patient portals, e-prescribing, AI-based documentation tools, claims processing and billing services. Customers include medical and specialty practices, laboratories, pharmacies, hospitals and health systems. Delivery depends on the product: some are cloud-based, some are offered integrated or stand-alone, and some billing services are run as managed services.
CGM is headquartered in Koblenz, Germany, and has offices in 19 countries, including a US business. It was delisted from the stock exchange in June 2025 after the financial investor CVC Capital Partners took a stake of about 28 per cent; the founding Gotthardt family remains the majority shareholder with about 50 per cent. Where customer data is hosted depends on the product and on the customer's contract, so a European organisation should confirm the hosting location and provider for the specific CGM solution it plans to use. The products are proprietary and not open source.
