Contractify: sovereignty score and 8 European alternatives

Contractify is contract management software from Belgium for finding, signing and following up on contracts, aimed at legal, finance, purchasing and IT teams, from small businesses to large enterprises. It offers a central contract library, automatic alerts for deadlines and obligations, reporting and dashboards, approval and signing flows, user permissions, and ADA, an AI analyst for digitising and analysing contracts. An API with integrations is also available. The product is delivered as cloud software.

Contractify is headquartered in Sleidinge (Evergem), Belgium, with further offices in Mechelen and Breda. The company describes itself as part of the Anchr House of Companies. Its security page says backups are stored in Europe with DigitalOcean and Amazon AWS; it does not state where production data is held, so ask about it. A data processing agreement is available and sub-processors are listed on a separate page. The software is not open source.

Why digital sovereignty matters with Contractify

Contractify is headquartered in BE and therefore falls under European law: the GDPR, NIS2 and the Data Act. No foreign legislation can compel access to your data.

Data is hosted exclusively in the EU, so Contractify scores best on data residency.

Contractify is closed source and hosted by the vendor. The encryption keys and the runtime sit with the vendor and switching requires data migration. Ask about bring-your-own-key, export options and open standards.

What this means for your organisation depends on your whole stack and context. The free assessment weighs Contractify together with your other vendors and gives a total score, a heatmap and the main risk drivers.
