Crownpeak Universal Consent: sovereignty score and 8 European alternatives

Crownpeak Universal Consent Platform (UCP), formerly Evidon, is an enterprise consent management solution. It includes presets for GDPR and CCPA, customisable banners, real-time scanning of first- and third-party technologies, consent types by vendor or category, IAB TCF support, data subject requests and consent APIs for web, mobile and other channels. Crownpeak acquired Evidon in 2017; UCP is part of a broader digital experience management offering that, according to older documentation, is delivered as multi-tenant SaaS on AWS.

Crownpeak is a US company headquartered in Denver, Colorado. In December 2025 Rezolve Ai plc, incorporated in England and Wales and based in London, acquired the entire share capital of CrownPeak Technology Holdings; Crownpeak's website has redirected to Rezolve since. Support documentation for UCP now sits with Rezolve. A US supplier with a UK parent falls under non-EU jurisdiction. The sources consulted do not state where UCP data is hosted. The software is not open source.

Why digital sovereignty matters with Crownpeak Universal Consent

Crownpeak Universal Consent is headquartered in the United States. US vendors fall under the CLOUD Act and FISA 702: US authorities can compel access to data, even when that data sits in a European data centre. That is the core of the jurisdictional exposure in our model. The ultimate owner is based in GB. Foreign control undermines part of the certainty a European headquarters offers.

Crownpeak Universal Consent hosts data outside the EU (US). Personal data therefore leaves the EU, which requires a transfer mechanism under the GDPR and pulls the data residency score down.

Crownpeak Universal Consent is closed source and hosted by the vendor. The encryption keys and the runtime sit with the vendor and switching requires data migration. Ask about bring-your-own-key, export options and open standards.

What this means for your organisation depends on your whole stack and context. The free assessment weighs Crownpeak Universal Consent together with your other vendors and gives a total score, a heatmap and the main risk drivers.
