DeskCenter Management Suite is a modular IT management product for capturing the endpoints in a network and automating routine administration. Its modules cover software distribution and management with a workflow designer, patch management, licence management and, since version 10, mobile device management that inventories tablets and smartphones. Modules can be used on their own or together, with reports across modules. Endpoints communicate with a central DeskCenter server over HTTPS, and the suite supports virtual and cloud-based installations. The sources do not describe a vendor-hosted service.
The DeskCenter products come from Leipzig, Germany; the company address is that of DeskCenter Solutions AG, and mosaic IT GmbH, also in Leipzig, has taken over the DeskCenter products. Where the central server runs, and thus where inventory and management data are stored, should be confirmed with the vendor.
