Frank!Framework is an open-source Java integration framework that organisations use to exchange and modify messages between systems. Integrations are built as adapters configured entirely in XML, and Frank!Flow lets teams view and edit those adapters visually. The framework runs as a Spring Boot application or as a WAR file on an application server.
The framework is licensed under the Apache License 2.0, so you can use and modify the source code freely. The project is sponsored by WeAreFrank!, an integration specialist based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, which also offers training, support and implementation services. Because you run it yourself on your own Java environment, there is no vendor cloud: where your data sits and who can reach it is under your control. For a European organisation this allows an integration layer under its own control, with a Dutch company as support partner.
