GIS Cloud is an online GIS and mapping platform for building maps, collecting field data and running spatial analysis. It is marketed as an AI-assisted cloud service and can also be installed behind a firewall. The service is offered as SaaS through the vendor's website and is operated by GIS Cloud d.o.o., a company with the Croatian legal form d.o.o. that the privacy policy names as the developer and operator of the services.
The privacy policy names three group entities: GIS Cloud Ltd., GIS Cloud Inc. and GIS Cloud d.o.o. No parent company or owner is named. The policy says customer information is stored primarily in the United States, and that storage on servers in the EU is available on request. AI providers also process certain data in the United States. For a European organisation the key question is whether the EU storage option is contracted; the US hosting default and transfers to affiliates in the United Kingdom, Croatia and the United States should be assessed.
