Archicad is a Building Information Modeling (BIM) application from Graphisoft for architects, designers, engineers and other building professionals. It covers parametric modelling of walls, slabs, roofs and other building elements, documentation, visualisation, energy analysis, clash detection and openBIM exchange through IFC, BCF and IDS. It runs as a native desktop application on Windows and macOS. Teams work on a shared model through BIMcloud: in the Collaborate and Max plans as a cloud service hosted by Graphisoft, in the Studio plan as BIMcloud Basic on a dedicated in-house server.
Graphisoft is headquartered in Budapest, Hungary, and is part of the Nemetschek Group, based in Munich, Germany, which acquired it in 2007. Both companies are European. Graphisoft states that it does not use project files, documentation or generated images to train AI models. The pages consulted do not say where the hosted BIMcloud servers are located, so organisations that need a specific data region should ask Graphisoft. The in-house BIMcloud Basic option keeps the shared model on infrastructure the organisation controls.
