Hexagon Geospatial is the geospatial software division that belonged to Hexagon AB and moved into the spun-off company Octave. The products have been renamed: ERDAS IMAGINE is now Octave Imagine, and M.App Enterprise is now Octave Alto Enterprise. Imagine is a remote-sensing package for processing satellite, aerial and UAV imagery, radar and LiDAR, with classification, change detection, object-based analysis and AI object detection. Alto Enterprise is a platform for building geospatial apps for browser, desktop and mobile and for presenting map dashboards.
Octave Intelligence is an independent, Nasdaq-listed company that, according to US press, is based in Alabama. Hexagon AB is Swedish, but the geospatial business no longer belongs to that group. Alto Enterprise can be deployed on-premises or in a hybrid setup. It is not open source. Organisations using ERDAS or M.App should take into account the US jurisdiction of the new owner.
