Infoblox NIOS is a platform for core network services: DNS, DHCP and IP address management (IPAM), together known as DDI. Several appliances are linked into one system using Grid technology and managed from a single console. The platform offers high availability with DNS anycast and DHCP failover, response policy zones to block malicious domains, encrypted DNS, and Terraform and Ansible plugins. NIOS runs on physical or virtual appliances in your own network, or as a virtual instance on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and Oracle.
Infoblox is headquartered in Santa Clara, California, and is owned by the investment firms Vista Equity Partners and Warburg Pincus. As a US company it can be subject to US legislation such as the CLOUD Act. Because you install NIOS yourself, you decide where DNS and IPAM data are kept, including within the EU. The product is proprietary. With NIOS-X as a Service, Infoblox also offers a SaaS variant on public cloud locations.
