INEA: sovereignty score and 8 European alternatives

INEA is a Polish telecommunications provider offering fibre internet, television and fixed and mobile telephony to households and businesses. Its services include symmetrical fibre connections, a 4K television package, an online TV service and a security package, with a separate business portal for companies. Customers manage invoices, support and accounts through the company's own app. The company dates its first DOCSIS internet service to 1999 and its first fibre network to 2009.

INEA sp. z o.o. is a Polish limited liability company with a correspondence address in Wysogotowo, Poland. According to the company's website, its group is owned by Odin Holdings, a Luxembourg company, and the majority shareholder is the Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 5, a Luxembourg fund. In August 2026 Macquarie announced the sale of INEA and the open-access network Fiberhost to Deutsche Telekom, which would integrate both into T-Mobile Polska; closing is expected at the end of 2026. The website does not describe where data is hosted, so European customers should ask directly where their data is stored and which data protection terms apply.

Why digital sovereignty matters with INEA

INEA is headquartered in PL and therefore falls under European law: the GDPR, NIS2 and the Data Act. No foreign legislation can compel access to your data. The ultimate owner is based in LU, also within Europe.

Data is hosted exclusively in the EU, so INEA scores best on data residency.

INEA is closed source and hosted by the vendor. The encryption keys and the runtime sit with the vendor and switching requires data migration. Ask about bring-your-own-key, export options and open standards.

What this means for your organisation depends on your whole stack and context. The free assessment weighs INEA together with your other vendors and gives a total score, a heatmap and the main risk drivers.
