genugate is a high-resistance firewall from genua, built from a separate application-level gateway and a separate packet filter. It is available as a hardware appliance for 19-inch racks in several size variants and as a virtual version. genucenter, a central management station, is used to administer genua products. genua addresses public authorities, critical infrastructure operators, defence, organisations that handle classified information, and mechanical and plant engineering. According to genua, its products hold Common Criteria EAL 4+ certification, and several have BSI approval for the German classification level VS-NfD.
genua is headquartered in Kirchheim near Munich, Germany, and is part of the Bundesdruckerei Group, so there is no non-European parent company. The firewalls run on the customer's own premises or virtual infrastructure; genua does not host customer data itself. The software is not open source. For European public bodies and critical sectors, this is a self-hosted option under German and EU jurisdiction.
