LibrePCB is a free, cross-platform suite for electronic design automation. Engineers, makers and companies use it to draw schematics and lay out printed circuit boards. It includes an editor for components and footprints and a command-line interface. The 2.0 project, co-funded through NLnet and the EU's NGI Zero programme, aimed to unify the interface in one tabbed window. It is a desktop application that, according to the project, works fully offline without an account.
LibrePCB is a community project without a company behind it. According to the project, it was started in 2013 by its lead developer in Switzerland, who asks for donations; commercial support is available on request. The source code is under the GPLv3, so you can run and modify it yourself and your design files stay on your own machines. Optional online features, such as a library manager and the LibrePCB Fab fabrication service, have no stated operator or hosting location.
